Howard WeissHoward M. Weiss is a Professor at the School of Psychology at Georgia Tech. He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from New York University. He is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), the Association for Psychological Sciences and the American Psychological Association and is a member of the National Research Council’s Board on Human Systems Integration. He has been a member of the Executive Board of SIOP and of APA’s Council of Representatives. Dr. Weiss has served or currently serves on the editorial boards of Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Academy of Management Review, Motivation and Emotion, Personnel Psychology and the Journal of Management. His research has been funded by the Army Research Institute, the Office of Naval Research, the Department of Defense and the Spencer Foundation.

Sophie A. KaySophie finished her PhD in industrial-Organizational Psychology in May 2019. Her dissertation was on the role of emotion and emotion regulation in workplace conflict. Prior to her studies at Georgia Tech, she received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Management in 2014 from The College of New Jersey, graduating magna cum laude. Her research is focused on on emotional labor and emotion regulation, but her interests broadly lie in the subjective experience of work and how daily experiences affect employees' motivation, exhaustion, and health. She hopes her future research findings could help individuals become more successful, healthy, and happy.

Gina M. Bufton
Gina finished her PhD in industrial-Organizational Psychology in May 2019. She graduated from Washington and Lee University in 2013 with a B.A. cum laude in Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. She is broadly interested in agency, emotion regulation, worker well-being, work/life balance and related gender issues, and job loss-job search transitions. |
Kathy Wiegand
Kathy received her PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Purdue University. She formerly held faculty positions at Georgia Southern University and Georgia Gwinnett College. After a personal sabbatical to start a family, she is enjoying her work as lab manager and researcher in the Work Experience Lab. Her research interests include employee well-being, emotions, stress, and work-nonwork interactions. |
Kelsey L. MerloKelsey received her PhD in May 2018 and is now an Assistant Professor at the University of South Florida. She completed her undergraduate studies in psychology and business at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. She is interested in the emotional experience of work and how those experiences impact a variety of outcomes, such as mind-wandering and performance.
